Hi: Quilts similar to this one with puppes and kittens appliqed were very popular during the 1920's and 1930's, resisting into the 40's and 50's as good chices for children's quilts. Patterns were available very inexspensivelt through mail in and were advertised in newspapers throughout North America. So, in terms of dating, I would estimate 1930's because of both subject matter and choice of colour/fabrics.

Hey Janet! Thanks for your expertise. I suspected an earlier date but antiques are not my forte.

I was just in NS over the weekend. Yeah! Another Canadian quilter!

Hi Eve: Where are you located, and what part of Nova Scotia did you visit? I am located on the North Mountain overlooking the Annapolis Valley and the Bay of Fundy close to Kentville.
Good to hear back from you.
